Naming

Naming characters is kind of challenging because I’m trying to strike a balance between being creative and not making it too realistic. I decided to keep with English names to keep things open-ended and avoid designating an ethnic. I feel weird incorporating Japanese names, because it would mean a lot of things - Translating things in the world to Japanese to remind people the setting is Japan. Then it would become realistic, and require more research.

I want to say… That I am personally not a fan of naming my OCs Japanese (I know this is disliked by a lot of people, lol) because my stories target audience is to appeal globally. Although V-Kei did originate from Japan. Some V-Kei members, band names had English and even French names.

Lillian Nocturne’s first taste of fame came during her time in the band Labyrinthe de Lumière, which disbanded in 1987 after 4 successful years. Today, Lillian is the charismatic and unconventional frontwoman of her own group, Fleur Society. She is known for her androgynous style and beauty, and many consider her the most attractive member of Fleur Society.

Osvin Hamlet is the lead guitarist of Fleur Society and has a unique personality. He enjoys acting like a prince and views his life through the lens of a fairy tale. He also has a talent for charming the ladies and considers himself a true gentleman.

Daniel Siege is the bass guitarist of Fleur Society. He is known for his love of performing magic tricks or doing risky stunts on stage. He has a playful and outgoing personality, and is often the life of the party.

Kayden Fox is the drummer of Fleur Society. He is a reserved and quiet person who often takes time to open up to others. Despite his introverted personality, Kayden is highly skilled in playing multiple instruments and has a talent for knowing multiple languages.

Hamilton Chad is Lillian’s butler and the backbone of Fleur Society. He is a reliable and versatile person who takes care of everything that needs to be done, from sorting out fanmail to scheduling tours and social events to handling finances. He has a serious demeanor but is actually a big nerd.

Yulia Nightsky is Lillian’s close friend. She enjoys gothic lolita fashion and photography, and is often seen carrying a camera around to capture moments and make special memories. Her personality is ditzy, Yulia can be a loudmouth and a bit of a crybaby, but she is a loyal and caring person who supports Lillian.

Sebastian Chrono is the former co-founder of Labyrinthe de Lumière, who has now moved on to acting and modeling. His relationship with Lillian is awkward because of their distance apart and the disbandment of Labyrinthe de Lumière.

Alphonse Taro is a dedicated fanboy of Lillian Nocturne. He regularly attends her events, collects her autographs and merchandise, and even shows up early to fan meets in order to get the best seats.
