Hi everyone I have decided to submit my game, yes it’s unfinished and I didn’t meet my word count (10k) it also has no sound or music as I didn’t have enough time SCREAMING. It uses bleep sounds for the in game text. But I tried my best to meet the deadline while falling sick 2 times in a row ;;

Writing

I have made another change to the synopsis:

A corporation known as Sweet-N-Crispy Magical Corp has created a hyper-realistic virtual world known as WonderNet 999. This world is populated by Battle Bride-maidens, elite warriors who serve as the saviours of humanity.

However, Cherry Blossompunch, a former Battle Bride-maiden, lives offline and is aware of the dark secrets concealed by Sweet-N-Crispy. Now, she finds herself being hunted down as she searches for a way to expose the truth and bring down the corporation.

Kinetic novel or multiple choice visual novel?

I originally was going for a kinetic novel but changed my mind because I wanted this story to have a bit more interaction to it, so I’ve added multiple choices. I planned a few endings and thought it would be nicer and easier to write more if it was somewhat complex.

Influences??

The influences for this game’s story was heavily from the matrix, deus ex and serial experiments lain. I wanted to combine something sci-fi/virtual in a mahou shoujo genre. I also was playing F.E.A.R and steins;gate on and off which may have contributed to my ideas^^

Reflection

Lessons learnt

This game caused me a lot of burnouts, it’s funny cause in past creative projects I never experienced a burnout this bad. I realized that maybe what I was making was quite ambitious for the game jam, I had certain expectations and was confused how to start off the story.

Future plans

If I did another game jam like this one solo, I would go for an easier genre like romance or comedy. I can see why there’s so many gamedevs making dating sims and I really feel like making one next :O

I also have a project from years ago I’ll like to get back to when the time is right and might turn it into a visual novel!
